Here's Johnny!

I just got back from another trip to Vegas and I am exhausted! It is not easy working 2 jobs and flying back and forth and trying to look for a new apartment and pack up the old one and try to wrap up things in my life here! The date I officially need to be in Vegas permanently is June 16th. Needless to say, my blog may be lacking for awhile.

Things went better this trip and I was able to find my way around the streets a little better. I thought I had found some nice places and checked out their models and then found out that they were not that great, and not in a great area, so I basically have to start over. I have narrowed down what area I need to live in though, so that should help.

I did want to share an experience I had though on this last trip though. I stayed at the Palace Stations on my last trip, but it was completely booked this time so I had to find another place, that was cheap, as work is paying for it. The only place I could find that wasn't over $100 a night was this place:
The hotel was in a scary part of town, but it was fairly clean and seemed ok. My stay there was pretty uneventful until 4am. I was sleeping soundly when I was awakened by the sound of soft white noise and a light filling the room. I open my eyes and this is what I see:
Well now that's weird! So I turn off the TV and fall right back to sleep. This happened EVERY morning at EXACTLY 4am. I did not think much about it until I checked out of the hotel and then I started thinking. I know you can set a timer to turn OFF the TV if you fall asleep with it on, but I am almost positive there is no timer to turn ON the TV at a set time. Can anyone say Poltergeist? Can anyone say REDRUM!
Yes, this is an actual picture of the hallway outside of my room. Looks a little like 'The Shining' wouldn't you say? The funny thing is, it did not bother me one bit when it happened, I was more annoyed! I just turned off the TV each time and went back to sleep. I probably annoyed the ghost when I didn't get scared!

That was really the only strange thing that happened on this trip. I did run into Elvis which I thought was pretty funny, but I imagine that won't be the last time I run into Elvis in Vegas! My hotel also had a drive through wedding chapel attached to it, and I really couldn't believe the amount of people that got married there on a daily basis. Sooooo romantic!

That would have scared the CRAP out of me!! Think about this... 4am there are ALOT of info-mercials on TV, and all you got was static! Huh? Huh? yea, thats what I thought! I'd be outta there so fast!

Oh man, I agree with Steph, I would have high-tailed it out of there so fast! You weren't staying on the 13th floor were you? Or in room 13? Now that would have been really freaky.

I was not on the 13th floor, I was on the 3rd and I was in room 306. Hmmm, that could mean something!

my first thought was...i wonder if that's when most people order porn and so the tv automatically turned on expecting the order...guess that tells you where my mind really is :)

I'm pretty sure you had a visitor. You should have tried to communicate. You probably hurt the ghost's feelings. I still can't believe you're leaving me. So rude! Maybe that's what the ghost was trying to tell you.

Geeze it is a good thing you don't scare easily. How could you even go back to sleep!!! You need to talk to AAA and have them recommend a respectable place. You have way too many experiences in hotels. Mike stays in hotels at least 5-6 times a month going on 8 years and he has never had any of the encounters you have in a month. Hey that could be the start of your book! Hotel Encounters of the 3rd Kind.

P.S. I am so sad that you are moving to Vegas. What about bookclub. Maybe you haven't thought about that? Hello??

Stacey, just for future reference - you can set a timer to turn a TV on just like an alarm clock. I know, when I really have to be up earlier than usual I don't trust my internal clock (although it still usually works) and I set my TV to wake me up with meditation music. Soooooo, if it happens again, see if you can find the menue and turn off the alarm. And, speaking of Elvis, he was the entertainment at Laurie and Eric's reception in Tucson after they got married in Vegas and I have some great pictures of me and him....he was great!!! Don't forget to eat right and take your vitamins so you don't get too run down while you "commute" to and from work. Love you, Aunt Kittie
